I used to have a blog...four score and many odd moons ago...about all the wonderful antics of a college junior. All of the craziness that went on in my co-ed fraternity, moving into a new apartment with new roommates, and even the adventures of a new relationship (that has now resulted in marriage to my new hubby of three months). But, I digress. Now I wish to move on into a more mature realm (yeah, like that would ever happen!) of a young married woman with a degree and a house and one fateful day, maybe, a job, too.
I guess, if I had to choose, somewhere far away to move from all of my family and friends Savannah would not be the most terrible choice I could make. As a matter of fact, the more I am here the more I am growing to like it. Having always been surrounded by friends and family, and never having moved before moving off to college, it was a little daunting to move to another state (all the way across another state, mind you) where I was at least 4 hours from anyone that knew me and 7 hours from anyone that I was used to seeing on a regular basis. (Yeah, I know, that far!) I blame my husband. He got a job...before I did...so that's how it works. Now I punish him by repeatedly dragging him the 30 minute drive into town so that I can get "out of the apartment" and having all of my friends and family over to visit so that he is constantly having to help me around the apartment to host our guests. It's not that he doesn't like my family and friends. He does. He's just one of those loner guys that would rather sit in a recliner with his laptop and play WOW (World of Warcraft for you computer gamer virgins who have not heard of this 12 million+ online players phenomena) with his brothers than actually meet new people or have face to face conversations. Did I mention he was very shy? I doubt we would have ever started dating had it not been for Theta Tau forcing us to be together for chapter events, but that's another post for days on which I feel like revisiting the last 5 years of my life.
Getting back to it, the last two weekends we have been blessed with a bevy of guests. Two weekends ago it was Quilla, Jorel, Sara, and Matt. This past weekend: My Parents. And there is actually a waiting list for the next month of people making arrangements to come stay with us and visit. (Ha, take that for moving me away from everyone. They shall all descend on you on a weekly basis to enact their rights of visitation upon you. *insert evil laughter here*) But now I am here, all alone, watching tv and the cat trying to paw a toy out from under the bookcase where it has mysteriously disappeared into the black hole for all things small and fun. Until next time...
